Blog 4 - Epic Video

    Hi Everyone!

In this Blog I am going to present to you a technology tool video I did and tell you about an online site named Epic. This site has a built-in digital tool that can be an adaptive technology resource for students that are visually impaired or struggling to read.  Epic has audio books that can help those students that are visually impaired to hear the story.  They also have read with me books that can help those students that are struggling with reading.  By using the read with me books students can still get the same information as the other students so they can stay abreast to the information being covered in class.  Also, keep in mind that some students have Individualized Education Plans (IEP) that require the text be read to them.  By allowing those students access to the audio and read with me books it can help with those accommodations.  ESOL students will also benefit from this website because it has books listed in different languages.

  1. Hi Theresa! I am learning so much with this weeks module blogs! I can not wait to implement them into the library, especially Epic! You did such a great job explaining how Epic works through your video. What a great source for everyone! I love that it can read to the students, which you point out how it helps with our ESOL students as well as our students who have IEPs. I explored Epic after reading your post and I really like the selection of books it has to offer. There are so many! Thank you for sharing this valuable and FREE source!
